Magnolia Media Buzz

Utilizing social media platforms is one of the best ways for business owners to communicate to their consumers. Chip and Joanna Gaines do this by having both personal but public, social media profiles as well as social media accounts for their businesses.

Unlike their website, Chip and Joanna have compressed their businesses into one account on Instagram and Facebook. Chip and Joanna have strategically used all of their social media accounts to promote their business and new endeavours so that fans from all around the world can stay up-to-date with the couple’s latest projects and adventures.

There are many important things to consider when you are running a social media account. You should ask yourself what it is that you are trying to portray, how can you best do that without direct communication, and what makes you different than the other people in your industry.

The Magnolia Market Instagram account is a great example to those questions that one should ask themselves that were stated upon. Rather than trying to manage multiple Instagram accounts for the couple’s multiple business, they have organized them into one profile with the account name “Magnolia”. The profile is accompanied by the biography, Market | Silos | Homes | Design | Baking Co. Shop online now at magnoliamarket.com. Through this biography, fans know that this will be their “one stop shop” for all things Magnolia.

Chip and Joanna’s personal accounts are a little different. Rather than having account names like “RenovationPro” or “InteriorDesignRox243”, Chip and Joanna use their personal names so that fans are able to differentiate between a more personal profile and their businesses. Through the pictures they post, they are able to show more of their personal life through family vacation photos and photos of their furry pets but the majority of their account is filled with pictures from their work projects.

Magnolia Market does not have an official Twitter account although the couple does. I assume that, that is because the couple has gained their fame by showcasing beautiful homes and various design aesthetics and the best way to share those would be through Instagram. The couple uses their Twitter accounts to direct people back to the Magnolia Instagram account through shared posts with brief captions.

Fixer Upper fans are able to connect with the famous duo through all forms of social media but access their businesses through limited forms. Hmmm..do you think that, that is a smart move for a business owner? With the success that they have worked for, I don't think that it has been a problem for them!
